NOTICE OF PUBLIC RIGHTS AND PUBLICATION OF ANNUAL GOVERNANCE & ACCOUNTABILITY RETURN (EXEMPT AUTHORITY)
ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2022

- Each year the smaller authority prepares an Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR). The AGAR has been published with this notice. It will not be reviewed by the appointed auditor, since the smaller authority has certified itself as exempt from the appointed auditor’s review.
Any person interested has the right to inspect and make copies of the AGAR, the accounting records for the financial year to which it relates and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other documents relating to those records must be made available for inspection by any person interested. For the year ended 31 March 2022, these documents will be available on reasonable notice by application to:

- Local government electors and their representatives also have:
- The opportunity to question the appointed auditor about the accounting records; and
- The right to make an objection which concerns a matter in respect of which the appointed auditor could either make a public interest report or apply to the court for a declaration that an item of account is unlawful. Written notice of an objection must first be given to the auditor and a copy sent to the smaller authority.
The appointed auditor can be contacted at the address in paragraph 4 below for this purpose between the above dates only.
- The smaller authority’s AGAR is only subject to review by the appointed auditor if questions or objections raised under the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 lead to the involvement of the auditor. The appointed auditor is:

Temporary Traffic Restriction 2022
Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 – Section 14(2)
In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to UKPN electrical works the use by vehicles of the C597 Common Place from its junction with C586 High Street to its junction with Knight Street in the PARISH OF WALSINGHAM will be temporarily prohibited from 25th to 29th April 2022 for the duration of the works, expected to be about 5 days within the period. If necessary the restriction could run for a maximum period of 5 days.
Alternative route is via: C597 Holt Road, C317 Snoring Road/Walsingham Road, C478 Barsham Road, C428 Water Lane, C586 Fakenham Road/High Street (Barsham, Walsingham, Great Snoring).
In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.

News from St Mary’s
Many thanks to everyone who helped to clean and decorate the church for Easter. It was good to welcome back so many to the service this year.
The next Sunday service will be Eucharist at 11am on Sunday 22nd May.
We look forward to Lucy and Rory’s wedding at the end of May and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June.
Cleaning the church for these events will take place on Monday 23rd May and all helpers welcome at 10 am.
On Thursday 2nd June there will be a Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen’s Jubilee at 6 pm followed by light refreshments in the church.

Easter at St Mary’s
With the changing of the clocks (thank you Jonathan for keeping the church clock correct!) and hopefully warmer weather, we look forward to Easter.
There will be a service of Eucharist at 11 am on Easter Sunday 17th April when we hope to have the church looking its best.
On Monday 11th April at 10am we will be cleaning the inside of the church, if you can spare some time please do come and help sweeping and polishing.

The Annual Meeting of the Parochial Church Council will be held on Wednesday 27th April 2022 at 11 am in the Social Club. Please send nominations for Churchwardens and PCC to the Secretary (Vivien Culling, Keepers Cottage, Thursford Road) prior to the meeting. All residents in the Parish and members of the Electoral Roll are invited to attend and vote.
